M Audio Torq Vs Serato Scratch Live ???

Post by Ruffdawg on Wed Nov 21, 2007 8:38 pm

My Birthday / Xmas is coming and i am definitely in the running for some Vinyl Emulation Kit ( I used to have Final Scratch but its a pile of steaming turd and is now broken 400 quid down the fucking pan

Anyhoo...Im undecided on either the Torq or Serato
I've heard good and bad things about Torq but that seems to be the case with all these products and the majority seem to sway towards the Serato
Torq is gonna cost 170 quid as opposed to Serato at 370
All i want to do is play Mp3's as Vinyl although VST plugins and such would be nice
I really need to make the right decision here as its a lot of money and im not gonna waste it twice after my FS episode ...any knowledge / help appreciated
Then alls i have to do is get a lappy then you can book me

Seriously though....Book Me

I got Serato in the end and its the best decision I ever made , Torq has a lot of bugs and M-Audio are pretty slow to fix them .
Where if Serato has a problem (which is rare) you can expect a reply from tech support within a few hours on their hugely populated forum.
Also the Torq box is very plasticky so if you're trudging it to Gigs and that it may not go the distance , the Serato box is rock solid
Honestly , if you have the cash, get serato , you WILL NOT regret it , but you might buying Torq

I see it like this M-Audio : Torq Conectiv = Numark / Gemini / KAM Decks

Serato Scratch Live = Technics / Vestax Very Happy
